Blue screened when playing games...

PC Specs:

PSU: CoolerMaster eXtreme Power Plus 700W
CPU: FX-8350
GPU: 7970
Mobo: Asus m5a97 LE 2.0

I recently upgraded my CPU from a fx-4130 to the 8350. I updated the bios to the latest version and have never overclocked it nor the gpu. When playing games, I sometimes get a pixelated, frozen blue screen. The CPU seems to be working fine..I just do not know why it is causing my pc to do this. It did not happen with the 4130. Is my mobo capable of handling a 8350?
