I just replaced my motherboard from an ASUS P8Z68 to a Gigabyte Z77x-UD3H hoping this would fix the issue, but it hasn't
I have my video card in the PCIe slot, and most of the time when I turn on my computer, the computer boots up, but the screen is blank/black/in standby.
I have tried HDMI and DVI to the video card. I am forced to shut down the computer, multiple times, before the card is recognized on bootup.
When the screen is blank/black/in standby, I can't do anything. I updated the bios on the video card, but didn't fix the issue.
Please help, or offer some suggestions. The video card is 2 years old, and I feel like I may need to replace it if I don't get this issue fixed!

The physical card does not look damaged. It is working now in windows, and when I game. Issue is on bootup

On your boot up try pressing Del or F12 or Home key to go to BIOS settings and go to video settings and change your init Display first to PCI-e or peg , or go to primary video graphic adapter (this is found in some BIOS versions) and also set here Pci-e. Hope this helps.

try the built in vga, dvi or hdmi ports and check the bios if it identify the card or not

In the bios, set to Gen2 (I have a SB processor). I have it set for PEG as initial boot. Still having issues. Onboard video works no problem

I have an asus dc2t 280x and have this exact problem. The screen will go green when HDMI is connected and turn off when DVI is connected. The numlock and capslock aren't responsive on the keyboard so I think the entire system locks up. Usually I will have to restart 2 or 3 times before anything shows up... I even had the issue while in the bios menu. I think the video card may be dying. I'm still trying to troubleshoot but it seems likely that I will have to RMA it. I've only had the card for 3 months.

I updated the VBIOS a few days ago... but I flashed back to the old bios once these problems started, however they aren't going away. I've been using the same driver for a long time before I had issues, but I have tried older ones on the asus website without success.
