AMD Radeon HD 6670 second monitor problem

Hi guys, was wondering if I could have a bit of your help, I have been trying all day to fix this problem.

Basically, I would like to connect both my monitors to my graphics card, I have an AMD Radeon HD 6670 series graphics card, one monitor is connected via VGA, the second monitor (which doesn't pick up) is connected via VGA-DVI (I also have a DVI-I which I tryed but the PC still wouldnt pick the monitor up). Right clicking in screen resolution and detecting monitors only one comes up.

There is a VGA, DVI and a HDMI port on my graphics card.

I did have it connected to my motherboard *integrated graphics* and it worked fine, but apps would sometimes crash. This is why I want both connected to my graphics card.

I was wondering is there anything I could do to make my second monitor work.

Have you tried with HDMI cable. Or you could try VGA cable connecting to second monitor while connecting DVI or HDMI cable to first monitor see if that helps.

I have just purchased a vga to hdmi cable so hopefully that will make it work :/ not sure why the vga to dvi port isnt working though, yes I tried that didnt help

Your VGA port on the graphic card might have gone bad.

I believe the 6670 can only output one analog signal at a time so you need to use DVI-D and VGA

Not a cable problem as ive tried both the vga cables both work fine on that port, its the vga to dvi-d that doesnt work

Is it an active adapter? it could be defective.

Are you sure its not a DVI-A to VGA adapter?
Does it work if you don't plug anything into the VGA port?

They are both vga cables the dvi is just a converter

I think you'll find that card can only run one analogue monitor at a time.

What connections do you have on the monitors?

Theu are both vga connections but I obviously put a dvi-I port on the second vga connection

That card cannot run two VGA monitors, you are going to have to replace one of them.

Will it work if I apply the second monitors vga cable to a hdmi output, so vga - hdmi will that work?

You can also buy a monitor with a DVI-D input which might be more common
