Slot doesn't matter that much. You can run a 2.0 card on 1.0. I can't really recommend you a card until you explain your budget in case i tell a expensive one.

Well if you are building a new PC you might need more money. As far is graphic card is concerned if you increase you budget a little bit you could go for HD 5670 and if not HD 5450 would good for far cry 2 types of games. But I would strongly recommend 5670.

my new pc has a 440 euro budget the 40-50 euro is for the backup pc but wont the hd 5670 be bottlenecked by my cpu?
and isnt the 5450 passive cooled.

No not all. your Power Supply is a good one. You can try 9500 GT but it is a bit outdated. Try 5450 is set for you.

but my cpu is shit and the 5450 has passive cooling which will result in overheating in almost every game (as far as i know)

Reviews of what? your cpu or graphic card. I have a Core 2 Duo and i have played latest games with a graphic card that is s*** Geforce 210. With this graphic card I am suggesting you stretch a year while saving for a built. And believe me you need a year for a good pc built.

i ment the reviews for the hd 5450.
but the 6450 also has passive cooling, i dont have any fan that will point at the gpu
im gonna build my pc next month but i cant live w/o gaming in the mean time lmao

I am currently playing on Geforce 210 overclocked in SFF case which is more small than desktop. and this card is no compare to 6450 or you could try HD 6670 I am going this card too for playing Battlefield, Watch Dogs at lowest settings but atleast they will run but you have a Dual Core so you might want to upgrade to Quad Core atleast to play those games at minimum with that card. All in all try HD 6670.
