Connected to the internet but can't get online??

My Computer is connected to the internet, I have a full signal but I can't get on any websites, it says I don't have internet connection to get on Steam or Skype, but It says I'm connected though. I'm using my back up laptop right now and all the other computers in the house are working fine. Can anyone help me fix this problem? It's been like this for about a month and I spent hours on it trying to fix it but nothing seems to be working.

check under network settings that no one changed your ip or dns info. by default both should be set to auto and not have a number installed in those boxes. try updating your network drivers. if it a built in port on a pc try using a wifi doingle to see if the port went bad.
