I have an HP Deskjet 1510 All In One printer. My 802 small black cartridge has gone out of ink. If I want to replace it with a new black cartridge, have I to turn off the printer and move the cartridge tray manually with my hand to remove the cartridge or is there any other automatic way of bringing the cartridge tray in front of the output lid?
I have once tried the manual way. Would it damage my printer?

Solution
Moving/forcing the cartridge cradle in to the right position will certainly damage it over time.
The cradle should move to the centre automatically when you open the access door.

If it's not doing that your printer needs repairing (nobody bothers doing that these days, too expensive).
So realistically it's time to get a new printer.

Solution
As I said, manually forcing the cartridge cradle to the centre position will eventually break the machanism.
The printer has to be turned on to install a cartridge otherwise there's no power getting to the motor which moves the cartridge cradle. That applies to any inkjet printer.
