It's the Dell Studio XPS 9000 (bought in 2010). Here are the specs:

- Intel Core i7-920 processor (8MB L3 Cache @ 2.66GHz)
- 12GB DDR3 SDRAM @ 1066MHz
- nVidia GeoForce GT220 (1024MB)
- 1TB Serial ATA 2 Hard Drive @ 7200 RPM
- 16X DVD+/- RW Drive
- Windows 7

I think that's the meat of it. What price do you think I can sell it for? Keep in mind it's just the computer I'm selling (without a monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, etc).

Thanks.

Didn't quite "run circles around" the 920.

Judging by that pricing, you think those parts are $165, and with your full build recommendation being $300, you're stating that the case, the DVD drive, and 12GB of 1066 RAM are worth $140, despite being able to get a new DVD Drive for $15, a new case for $20, and 12GB of 1600 RAM for $99.45 ($63.75 - 2x4, $35.70 1x4).
---

PSU is worth $20 because the cheapest POS you can get to plug in is $20. A GT 210 is $25. The cheapest piece on PCPartpicker is $28...

DDR4 RAM is coming out soon, 1066 is slow nowadays
i7-920 is the 1st series of i7. They are on the 4th series now.
1TB HDD is good, 7200RPM is the good speed.
GT220 is junk.
Windows 7 is good.

-DVD drives are like $15 new. Ask for $10.
-12GB of RAM would be a decent price now, but with DDR4 coming out, not so much. Go with the old price of RAM (when it was cheap 8GB for $35) you're looking at $50.
-1TB HDD sells new with deals for $50. Ask for $40.
-Windows 7, Case, Motherboard, Graphics card, and power supply are about $225. PSU is junk (~$20), graphics is junk(~$20), case is junk (~$20), people pirate Windows 7 (~$40). Motherboard has 6 ram slots (~$100), call the extra $25 the upgrade difference (price it costs to upgrade the stuff).
-CPU is the toughest. It has hyperthreading, but it's old and slow (2.66ghz). Slowest i5 on sale at newegg is $180 and it's 3.1ghz (3.4 turbo). Ask for $150.

You can likely sell it for ~$475.

If you want to call it $415 instead of $475 that's understandable, but you're just throwing out a price instead of pricing it.

No, I know what I am talking about. The i7 is not worth anywhere near 150 busk. About $70 is what it really is valued at. For $150 you can get an fx8320 NEW which will run circles around it.

Motherboard is old and uses a dead socket so that is only worth about $70 not $100.

The PSU is not going to be worth anything at all. Not $20. Same for the GPU. You can get a new one for $25.

You also cannot value win7 as it is not sellable. The 1tb HDD is worth about $25.

I'm sort of inbetween here; you can possibly get away with about $400 but list it as $425 so there is room to bargain. The CPU is outdated so I can only guess that your buyers are going to be regular PC users who aren't into gaming. Anyways. like MasterMace said, the graphics card is severely underpowered compared to todays modern GPUs so try and sell it for about $425 dollars.

PCPartpicker lists 3 different 1TB 7200rpm HDDs at $60, WD Toshiba and Seagate, you could probably find one on Ebay for $45-50 BIN. To say it's $25, you'll have some fun finding one that isn't broken on ebay for $25.

Win 7 is arguable, because it is pirated. But he can pull each of those parts that you call worthless and then the PC won't sell, because they are in fact worth something, as the parts need to be replaced.

---
you want to call the motherboard $70 instead of $100, fine. Knock $30 off. Win7 $0 because it's piratable? ok, knock $40 off it. $475 - 70 = $405.

I'm not gonna state that the FX 8320 is running circles around an i7 920, nor do i think it's less valuable than an i3, because I know what I'm talking about.
