I'm kinda unsure about the current hardware line up from intel. I've been thinking about building a gaming computer but I'm not sure if the new haswell is worth the time. I currently have an i5 760, 8gb of g skill ram, an asus p7p55d-e pro mobo and an evga gtx 560ti video card. Will a haswell build based of the i5 4670 but I huge upgrade or am I better off doing something to improve my current build? I play games like world of Warcraft, dota 2, league of legends and battlefield 4. I don't know just looking for an opinion before I decide to spend a bunch of cash. Thank you.

The i5-760 is not that bad. Even if the GTX 770 won't work at its best with it, it still will be a big improvement over the 560 ti.

And of course you can replace the MB and CPU later, if you see the CPU at 100% a lot in Task Manager.

If you do decide for a MB/CPU upgrade, I'd say go for i5-4670k and some Z87 or H87 board. The LGA2011 boards are perfect for multiple GPUs and/or 6-core CPUs, but they cost more.

Would the cpu bottleneck the 770? thats one thing ive considered but i worried that perhaps id be spending money on a gpu that wont be able to perform to its potential. money for a new build isnt an issue. id prob sped 1400-1500CDN tops bit i mean if i could get away with just making improvements to my current setup id be alright doing that as well. i will look at the article you posted. Thank you

if you're willing to "go big" then how about LGA2011 stuff? the mobo/cpu will cost more than haswell but ought to have quite a bit more power and bandwidth to handle a bunch of stuff down the road. once you get past the mobo/cpu, everything else costs the same as for haswell, so really not all that bad (not like you need ECC ram and FirePro cards)

the lga2011 hardware is currently going to push me way out of my budget. cheapest mobo i see on newegg is 250 bucks. im not going to do any large amount of overclocking. i was more or less just wondering if i am gonna see a nice difference between what i currently have and a haswell build thats all. id be all for the gpu upgrade but i am concerned about bottlenecking it.
