Getting an ''access denied' mssg when trying to install w7-preactivated on my w8.1 thinkpad - this after mounting w7 ISO on a newly created dedicated partition and running setup wisard. Also trying to copy ISO using isotousb.exe onto a usb drive to make it bootable and getting same 'access denied' mssg. Any advice? thx

It's probably an issue with UEFI -- are you doing a UEFI Windows 7 install like THIS?

I would check to see if you can get drivers for Windows 7 for this laptop first, but another approach is to clean the drive using diskpart and then install the standard way for 7.

You also might want to take a look at the MS Tool for USB installs HERE.
