I have just purchased the biostar ta970, hyper 212 evo, and an amd fx 8350. I was looking to overclock and I know the cooler is good for it but the motherboard was my concern. I have yet to find a guide to overclocking this cpu with this board. I'm new to overclocking so please no harsh comments. Thank you.

According to this source ( http://www.overclock.net/t/946407/amd-motherboards-vrm-info-database ) you're within the minimum to attempt such a thing. 4+1 is enough to make a lot of people pause, so I wouldn't attempt anything extreme, but you have heatsinks. You should be fine as long as you keep it mild.

As for overclocking, this is a pretty good guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MckeAmnDeTk

I would stick to multiplier-style overclocking only, as opposed to Front Side Bus (FSB) or mixed-style overclocking. Since you'll have a different BIOS, some of the names/labels may be slightly different, but you should still be able to extrapolate.
