I am getting frustrated with this, seriously hoping for some answers. I have a WD my passport 2TB that is not being detected on my new desktop computer that has a asus z87-a motherboard. It constantly makes the connecting sound but never gets detected

Here's some more information about the problem, I have tried reinstalling the usb 3.0 drivers and it didn't work. I have tried plugging it into all my usb 3.0 ports still same result. There is not a problem with my usb 3.0 ports because I plugged a usb 3.0 drive and it was detected so i thought it might have been a problem with the drive not getting enough power so i contacted WD and they sent me a power booster cable(but is a normal micro usb to usb cable) and it is now detected in the usb 3.0 port but not working at usb 3.0 speeds. There shouldn't be a problem with the drive as it is detected on my laptop's usb 3.0 port.

I would be so thankful if i can get some help on how to get this drive performing the way that it should.

Yes my other USB 3.0 drives work in the usb ports, I can no longer return it plus the drive is pretty much full and I have nowhere to move it...
I have tried the solution in that thread and it did not work
Thx for replying though

ye tell me about it, been so frustrated and no where to turn...Oh i forgot to mention that the drive is detected in the bios when plugged into the usb 3.0 port but does not autorun when windows starts, don't know if that changes anything.

When you say the problem is with windows, got any idea what in particular?
