The R7 260X ($140) is basically an overclocked Radeon HD 7790 with the addition of TrueAudio. It uses the same generation GPU core as the HD 7790 (Bonaire), but it is clocked at 1100MHz instead of 1000MHz for a stock speed Radeon HD 7790. However, there are Radeon HD 7790 that are clocked at 1075MHz and priced as low as $100.

Below is a link for the GigaByte Radeon HD 7790 for $100 after rebate. So a loss of 25MHz of performance can save you $40. Since the R7 260X is just an overclocked HD 7790, you may not have much headroom left if you attempt to increase the overclock.
