Hello I was given a used custom built gaming pc but the drawback is, that it has a "stock" (I assume) bios, the bios is a American Megatrends Inc. SMBIOS Version 2.5

My motherboard is a XFX Geforce 8200 and my graphics card is a 9200 Geforce GSO, how do I go about updating my bios for XFX motherboard, this is my first time so please give me a step by step instruction. I am running windows XP. Thank you!

My bios needs to be updated because I keep having computer crashes with my GPU when using the internet/playing video games, I read elsewhere about this GPU and people are saying to update the BIOS... Thank you for the link. From there I have gotten a AFUDS423.exe file and a 8200V18FX.iso file, how do I use these?

In order for you to download their drivers/support files you'd need to be registered to them. Go here and fill in your details.

Would you'd need a bios update since this motherboard is already aged and, well, out of its league...?

XFXforce's site isn't working for me. Maybe you could try it out - xfxforce.com register with them and see if there are any files worth downloading. Mind you, you'd need to verify that you don't have the latest bios.

If possible see if you can find driver updates with Win7. That way you can jump aboard Win7 and depending on your ram, you can get a better experience with the new OS.
