amd fx 8350 downclock

I was wondering how to downclock my cpu to 3.8 Ghz my current temps are to hot. I would like it if some one could tell me how to do this and what settings I should try. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to stuff like this. Step by step instructions would be much appreciated. Oh and my mobo is m5a99x evo r2.0.

well when i run prime95 it hits 48C after 5 mins and just stays there even after 30 mins it only hits 50C while playing games it hits 38-41C i have never used a FX-8350 so im not sure what the temps on this chip should be im currently using a corsair h100i

oh ok i was getting worrid because the last cpu i had was my first AMD chip A10 5800k and that trhing never got passed 38C even under load.

Yeah, the 8350 runs much more hot than that A10. Max recommended temp for the 8350 is 62c on the cores, that is direct from AMD.
