ive done some searching around but i cant get a clear answer

im using CPUID to get all these temps.

at idle the 4670k running a stock fan, the temp is high 30s low 40s. is this good or bad???

when i fired up Prime95 to do a quick stress test the temps shot up to the mid 90s. i kinda figure that was too high so i stopped it after about 5 mins.

So my question is. Is that a normal high temp to see in prime95 doing the large FFT test.

Id like to do a major stress test on the weekend for both the cpu and gpu. but there is no point in doing it if it just ganna cook itself.

any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers Duane

I got I7-4770 - 30 mins of prime95 nets me 75c. I use Freezer I30, which is a mid-rangish air cooler.

Since I7-4770 is basically the same sh as I5-4670 mostly, I'd say it means your CPU runs hot, not surprising seeing that stock coolers are infamously bad..

Why do you want to stress test it anyway? I think it's clear as it is that it is not sitting well together cooling-wise, so you got your conclusions already.

your right my friend. i should be looking into it further and that is what i did. threw some artic silver on it just for now (bought the temp down a lazy 5 degree C) and now in the next week or two i will buy myself a new cpu cooler.

How did that ever work out for you?
