Okay so here is the answer to your question. Yes and no. The sockets appear the same and the cpus will fit into each other, but if you are looking to upgrade your cpu in your laptop you need to make sure that your bios includes the processor that you are changing to in the whitelist. This is because the bios will not recognize the cpu and therefore the computer will be worthless.
