Many of my friends are getting the PS4 or a Boner, and I am the only advocate of PC Gaming. They have all been boasting about their new consoles and what it can do, so I told them the PC I am about to get will kick their sorry console asses.

Can anybody suggest a prebuilt PC, preferably around $800 that will max out the latest games on the highest settings? I really have no idea how to build a PC, so I guess a prebuilt PC would be the best option. I can go up to $1000, but not any higher than that. It's a matter of pride here, I need to show them who is boss. Thanks for any future suggestions.

Well there is more of an issue than just hardware.
You can build a rig that has more muscle than the newest consoles pretty easily, what comes into play is opinion.
How do you gauge which is better?

One large reason consoles can get those nice visuals and sound is that developers only need to optimize code for a single platform (or 2), where there is an almost unlimited number of PC configurations out there so the code has to be more complex to work on a wider range of hardware and thus have more 'overhead'; which takes power.

I would just build whatever you feel is nice for your budget, because PC's are the better more versatile gaming platform (and IMHO a mouse/keyboard combo out snipes any console controller).

Did that make sense?

I guess it makes sense, and I know it would be easier to make games for the consoles, but I will always stick with a PC because of its superior graphics and processing power. Besides, I do not want to back down now and get a console instead. My friends would laugh at me for that. And, I am looking for a prebuilt PC right now as I have no idea how to build a PC. Thank you.

I haven't bought a pre-built in many years so I can't help you much there.

Remember you can always camp their spawn and snipe them over and over and over until they REPENT!

Nvm, thank you for your time. Yes, I will definitely take your advice and snipe them a 100 times until they come begging for mercy and apologize. Thanks.
