I bet you get this question a lot, so i add myself to the %:sarcastic:

Can i run 2 7970+1 r9 280x having only a Corsair AX 860i (860W) on my disposal?

Will oc a little bit all of the 3 cards : 1100/6200, no voltage increase at all.

Thanks for your help.

This power supply will NOT be enought for all three cards under load...you will want at least a 1000 watt psu for that kind of hardware..yes it seems like overkill, but each of those cards can draw over 270 watts when overclocked, pluss the likely 100+ watts from a cpu, then factor in hard-drives and other things in your system, you are just slightly over what you should be using with that power supply

Are you sure?

I only see that my psu uses 700W when running funmark, maxed out at 1440p but there is no way a game can ask for much power.

Typically you never want to max out a power supply, but rather fall into it's efficiency range (80-85% usage) So with your current psu, you will be running into power problems, it's just going to happen man. With say a 1000 watt psu, you would be running within it's max efficiency range

AMD puts the power draw for those cards at 250W. So 250 * 3 = 750. JUST for the video cards. Add in a ~100W CPU (more if you have an FX, less if you have a core series.) and you are already at 850W. I wouldn't do it with the PSU you have, though as mentioned a 1kW should be fine, 1200W if you want to do OCing.

If it helps to think of it this way, if you have two cards already and hit 700W, adding that third card should push it to ~950ish. Gaming will probably be around 850W or so, but that's 100% of your PSU output. I'd go higher.

Nice PSU.

I chose the Corsair because i have the whole Corsair link working in my system, with the 860i, it lets me see how much power the system is taking from the wall.

Thanks to all for your advice.
