Hi, all looking for a new psu to support my 280x as I'm currently using a ocz 500w psu and getting a few issues.

I have found a couple of psu's so far but really can't make a decision :(

Ocz zs 650w or 750w
Corsair cx600w or 750w Heard alot of people complaining about coil whine on cx model so puts me off.
Xfx 650w < this is the one Im considering the most.

I don't really want to spend a small fortune on a psu so I need to find a balance between quality and price.

Any advice appreciated :)

Company mentions 750 watt for 280x.
But i guess 650 watt is fine if you dont plan to crossfire it later.

OCZ is going bankrupt so I'd stay away from those as there will most likely be no warranty support.
The Corsair CX series has longevity issues with its secondary capacitors.
XFX psu's are made by Seasonic(arguable the best there is).
I'd get the XFX.

Thanks for the reply Varum, Thats odd, it says 500watt psu min on the back of the box and 600w on the website :S I don't plan on crossfire to be honest as its more hassle than its worth most of the time.

XFX is made by SEASONIC , and the 650w has more than enough power to run your specs.

That's pretty much my own thoughts, I just didn't know if 650w would definitely be enough, The website says 600 min the box says 500 min and i've since heard people say 750w?! I may have to stretch to a xfx 750w but surely with one card 650w is more than enough?

A Radeon R9-280X - needs at least 30A on the 12v rail and a 550W power supply.

So the XFX 650w has plenty of extra power to spare.
