Graphics card nightmare.

the card is a GTX 550 ti, fan is spinning and the computer does occasionally recognize the card.I checked with Speccy and in the device manager. currently neither are showing the card, however the same problems persist whether or not the card is detected. As far as bios, they are currently on default settings, they have been updated, reset, messed with and reset again in an attempt to get something to work.The card's fan is spinning. Any attempt to install a driver fails. I have tried when the card is detected and when the card is not detected. I tried a system restore to almost brand new and then I got some blue screen issues before the computer would get to the log in screen, but the upstart repair seems to have fixed that. Also, I am currently using a vga computer screen with a dvi adapter to plug into the card itself.
