Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: this week
Budget Range: 2000 after shipping
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Recording, sequencing, producing (vst heavy) music, editing full HD 1080 video with adobe premiere and using all the other programs from creative suite.
Are you buying a monitor: No
Parts to Upgrade: Full build
Do you need to buy OS: Yes
Please note that if you're using an OEM license of Windows, you will need a new one when buying a new motherboard.
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Would like to use a site where I can order everything at one place using paypal
Location: Maryland USA
Parts Preferences: I like intel i7 CPU and asus brand. I'm a computer newb for the most part but my Asus k53 has treated me right.
Overclocking: Maybe
SLI or Crossfire: Maybe (not sure what this is)
Your Monitor Resolution: not sure right now I have a few
Additional Comments: I need to be able to record around the PC if possible. Noise isn't really a HUGE issue.
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I want a dedicated work station I can be sure will keep up with the times for a while and handle my requirements. I want to edit full HD video with no worries, and run multiple vst's and have LOTS of audio tracks and effects plugins running with no lagging and latency issues. I want this to be an investment I can rely on for a while.
This is what I have so far picked out. I have a HP xw200 workstation that has a "mini-tower" case, will that work? Here are my other component selections:
