I currently have an i7-4770K overclocked (4.7 one core, 4.6 two cores, 4.5 for three cores and 4.4 on four cores) and an R9 290X, running off an EVGA SuperNova Gold 750W PSU. I am selling the R9 290X in favor of two R9 290's and was wondering if the 750W will hold or if I need to bump it up. I also have 2 SSD's, 1 mechanical HDD, 5 case fans, and 1 240mm radiator with 2 more fans.

Hi - normally I would say a good quality 750 is enough, but in this instance I see you OC'ing & have a plethora of other +12v power draws. Guru 3d tested the 290 in CF and recommends 800w as a minimum. Normally, that would mean a good 750w would be enough, but because of the factors already listed, I think you should go with a good quality 850.

Hi - you do not need a 1000w PSU, the power consumtion on the guru 3d test in CF was 493w, they recommend 800 based on that.

Techpowerup and Kitguru both had them max out at 315-320 per card. Thats a bit higher than guru3d. It all depends I guess whether it is a simple gaming rig or a mining rig.

this is NOT a mining rig, it is my primary computer which means gaming, school work, video editing etc but I do no mining with it. Also, these are 290 (non X) cards so I can't see needing a 1000W PSU...

any suggestions for a fully modular PSU? I'm spoiled from my fully modular EVGA
