Recently bought a new desktop computer. It came with just a hdd and im trying to add a ssd and configure it to boot the operating system but i cant seem to be able to enter the Bios for the Gigabyte Z87X UD4H mobo
when i start the computer up there is no display until it gets to the windows 7 log in page, so i have no chance to attempt to enter the bios. ive tried constantly hitting delete (which the hotkey should be) as well us any other possibilities it could be. however when i do try to enter one of the hotkeys it doesnt continue to the login stage - so im thinking maybe it does enter but im unable to see the display, despite the monitor working perfectly fine.

hopefully that makes sense and kinda new to this, so any help will be appreciated

if you have a mechanical keyboard it may not boot in time to allow you to enter bios.
so if you have 1 handy plug in a ps/2 or usb rubber dome keyboard as they boot instantly as they dont have to same issues as some mechanical keyboards.
tapping del at boot time on a gigabyte board is the correct way to get into bios.

not too sure what you mean but i just tried 4 different key boards (including 1 ps2 and 1rubber dome), in all the possible sockets and no luck :/. its not that im not quick enough to press delete when shown to but i never see the chance to be able to enter the bios. the display is just black until it gets to the windows log in screen. i have no gigabyte startup menu thing which should appear; wondering if i need to reset something/install something?

I realise this is an older thread but I had the same problem when trying to access bios through gpu. Plug your monitor into the mobo display port, if you haven't already :)

What if your mobo doesn't have integrated graphics?
