Core Temp monitor unreliable

Hi all

Does anyone else find Core Temp to be erratic?

HWMonitor and ASUS' Monitor agree on 31'C. Meanwhile, Core Temp is jumping from 21 to 33 to 18 to 28 and so on.

Seems strange because loads of people really like Core Temp. I've tried reinstalling and different downloads, but it's the same every time.

What CPU do you have ? I use Core Temp and find it very reliable and the real time temp does vary by a degree or two on my CPU (i7-3930k). I find HW Monitor to be unreliable. I don't believe that a CPUs temp can be static and it will have some fluctuation.

Hi Getochkn, it's an FX8320. I'd post a video if I could, it's really weird! I noticed a couple of days ago that at idle it was lower than the other monitors, then they evened up under load. But all the time Core Temp is lurching back and forth through a range of about 15-20'C.

Well, if no one else seems to have had this, it must be something with my installation. I shall try again!
