Hello all I wish to upgrade my GPU to a AMD HD 7870 from an AMD HD 7770

now I have had suggestion that I should go for the newer card

But what I would like to know is it worth crossfiring these cards so my old one don't go to waste

just wondered if worth it before I buy new card

I have been advised that 2 7770 would be a waste and that the 7870 would be more then enough

Thank you all for Reading!

Crossfire gives unreliable frame rates and stuttering in many games due to frame pacing issues.
By using two HD 7770 cards in Crossfire, each card still has only 1GB video memory, so won't allow high detail settings in many games.
A HD 7870 is much better than two HD 7770 cards.

The new card replacing the HD 7870 is the R9 270X. It doesn't matter which you choose, performance is very similar.
Equivalent card from Nvidia is the GTX 660.

The HD 7870 or R9 270X will allow high detail settings at 1920x1080 resolution, but not ultra settings.
Choose a AMD R9 280X or Nvidia GTX 770 if you would like to run with ultra settings.

For the HD 7870, R9 270X or GTX 660, you will need at least a good quality 430W power supply with two 6 pin PCI-E...
