Hey guys! Got a new computer today.

Chassi: Cooler Master HAF XM Midi Tower Black
- Power supply: Corsair CX 600M, 600W Modular PSU
- Processor: AMD FX-8320 8-Core Processor
- Motherboard: Gigabyte AM3+ 970A-DS3P
- RAM: Crucial DDR3 BallistiX Sport 1600Mhz 8GB KIT
- Graphics: XFX Radeon R7 260X 2GB GDDR5 PCI-E x2
- SSD: Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB 2.5" 7mm OEM
- CFX: AMD Crossfire Bridge
- DVD: OEM DVD-RW

Just having some problems with getting my Crossfire to work. There are two XFX Radeon R7 260X 2GB GDDR5: http://www.komplett.se/img/p/400/802863.jpg (Same as the picture.) Got my Crossfire Cord, but there are no crossfire sockets on the graphic cards..

When i try to Enable crossfire in CCC the enable option is greyed out, and i get this message: The AMD crossfireX internal bridge interconnects linking your graphics cards together are not properly attached. Both bridge interconnects must be attached. For more information see the users guide for your graphics card. I've updated my BIOS and also reinstalled Cataclysm Control Center. I've googled like a maniac for an answer but can't find any so im hoping anyone here can help me out!

Thanks in advance!

Regards

R7 260X does not require a crossfire bridge interconnect, crossfire should just work through the PCI-E slot.
I don't know why you would want to crossfire these cards though.
Because each card has only 1GB of video memory, you won't be able to run very high settings.
Frame rates are also unreliable with crossfire.
A single R9 270X or GTX 660 would give much more reliable performance with lower frame rates in some situations.
A single R9 280X or GTX 770 would give much more reliable performance and higher frame rates.

Okay, thanks for a fast reply! I don't know much about crossfire at all.. So are the cards "connected" now? even though Catalysm control says crossfire is disabled? I want to use both cards :p

I see you do have 2Gb RAM per GPU........

I see some 260's With Crossfire connectors, and some without.... (I''ll research further but though Only 290's worked in CF without the physical bridge...and even then Required PCI-E 3.0 (which you don't have))

I DO know, this motherboard will hold you back:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128602

Since it ONLY has:
PCI Express 2.0 x16
2(@x16,@x4)

That only have x4 PCI lanes in the second slot will hit yor CF performance......

You could check for an update motherboard BIOS that Might help.

UPDATE: Ah, the missing details........ the R7 260X DOES do xDMA ("no bridge") CrossFire....

""""""The big benefit is that there’s no longer any need for an external bridge. Whereas the interplay between CrossFire connector and PCIe bus continues to stymie the rest of AMD’s cards (except for the Bonaire-based R7 260X—that GPU has the xDMA feature, too)]"""""""

AND, PCI-E 3.0 is NOT required..........
"""""""""You don’t even need PCI Express 3.0 connectivity—as in, the xDMA engine doesn’t rely on any specific feature of the third-gen standard. AMD says this feature will work on platforms limited to older versions of PCIe, too."""""""""

So, new bottom line, it "should" work. BUT, as you have to move All the data across PCI-E lane and you have only x16 / x4 PCI-E 2.0 your going to take an even BIGGER performance hit with CrossFire of those cards on that motherboard.....

I would highly recommend, returning the second R7 260 and going with a single more powerful card when you can on that system for max FPS.......

R7 260x also comes in a 2gb version with a GPU clock around 1.1Ghz. Here is my setup, what do you think ?

1x AMD fx-9590
