I need some help, I want to build a mining rig for LTC (litecoin)
2x AMD 7950 with a OCZ GXS 850 (just two PCIe 6 pins) Will the cards work at a full hashrate?
And a side question, will the card run fine, using a 1x to 16x riser cable?
1 x PCIe 2.0 x16
2 x PCIe 2.0 x1
3 x PCI
And my PSU (OCZ GXS 850) Has just two PCIe power cables?
1x 24-pin main ATX
2x PCI-Express
1x 4-pin/8-pin CPU
2x 4-pin floppy drive
6x 4-pin peropheral
6x SATA
If anyone can help me out, I would be very happy.

Normally units that have 750watts and more (apart from a few crap units that are over rated) have 4 or more connectors.I am wondering what PSU do I have?
I post a photo of the information found on it.
What I found was this:
1 motherboard cable pack
ATX2 PCIe
6 SATA
1 split cable into 2x 4pin to power my processor?
And a bunch of random cables to power DVD Floppy maybe a fan?

If I can count the PCIe connector can provide 150W in stead of the usual 75W? Or where eould the 850W otherwise go if I can only hook up 1 videocard?
Just to check before i buy 2x a 7950 XFX and I find out that they will run at way to low hash rates or something like that.

That is strange since the OCZ link shows exactly the same sticker with two +12 volt rails dedicated to PCIe with 20amps which is 240watt way more than a single connector can handle. http://www.ocztechnology.com/res/manuals/OCZ850GXSSLI.p...
You can always use Molex to PCIe adapters for the second connection if you can not find the cables!

Hmm or a Molex PCIe 1x to 16x riser, one last and maybe most silly question. Where can I find the Molex connectors? Are they comming from my PSU or my Motherboard? Asus M5A78L_LE? I was not able to get that clear after reading some threads.

Often the 4 pin Molex or peripheral adapter comes with the card and connects between card and PSU. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
I am not sure the second card will work well on the riser card so maybe a better motherboard is a better solution.

Thanks for the answer, I am just stupid. I know what a molex connector is, but I am not used to the name
i saw them today
a riser card 1x to 16x will work fine for mining. You can even stick a 1x to 16x riser in a 16x motherboard PCIe slot and there will be not any diff (for mining). Mining doesnt require a big load of Memory to be used, just brutal processor force. That is why AMD overrules Nvida, and the reason that we can make special mining chips is the same
just a stupid fast calculation times 10000000x to get a coin rewarded. Thanks for all the answers, I will PM you when my miner is finished.
