Is crossfire worth it with my setup? 1x X16 1x X16 in X4 Mode

According to the manual of my motherboard (Asus P8Z68-V-LE btw) It says:
2x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots (blue @ x16 mode, black @ x4 mode)

I currently have Radeon HD 7850s in XF and was wondering if it's worth it at all since the second one runs at X4 mode and not X8 / X16 like the blue slot. I heard X4 mode makes it slower? Does that mean my FPS will be horrible and only run a tad better?

Also my PSU is 850 watts is this enough power?

How much performance wise will it mess with my FPS than if I had a x8 or x16 for the second slot. I have a monitor with a high resolution 1920 x 1080 so I had to upgrade and the cheapest way for me was to just crossfire another.

you might be better off turning off CrossFire and using the card that's in the x4 slot to just run two additional monitors, to make a 3-screen setup. game on the main card that's x16, and web/chat/etc on the other two that are x4.

or swap your motherboard for something that has better slots (x8/x8 is the best you can hope for unless you spend a ton and get one that has the PLX chipset on it)

Even though I'm in x4 mode on the second card, it'll still be at least a little bit improved FPS during gaming than it would with 1 card correct? (If I leave it how it is now) Otherwise what is the point of my board saying "CrossfireX ready"

How much of a performance issue are we talking here? (Using 16x/4x instead of 16x/8x) Is what I mean. Like will the second GPU run with 10% lower fps %20 %30? Rather than changing setup / buying new mobo because i'm already tapped from buying a new 1080p monitor and GPU if it'll kill my performance about 10% using x4 instead of x8 or higher that's not a big deal for me. If it's like 50% i'm better off just selling both gpus and saving for a 770

Most people answering here are just GUESSING. I had 2*280X Xfired on a MSI G43 Gaming (1 slot pcie 3.0 and 1 slot pcie 2 - @16x and 4x) and the FPS scaling is like 90%. In Battlefield4 @5760*1080 I went from 45-70 FPS single card to 60-120 in Xfire (16x4x). I swapped mobo, to the G45 gaming (8x/8x), and the visible diference is in frame smootheness. FPS count remained pratically the same (may improved a bit).

So, short answer, even in 16x/4x Xfire you´ll have a huge FPS leap (like 90%).
