Can a Biostar TA970 work with a fx-6300? Because its says on part picker that Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs, What does this mean? Is it not compatible at all? How do i update BIOS? What is BIOS? Yes i am a noob. This is my build, (so far)

First off, it will work. You just *might* have to update it.

So BIOS, Basic Input Out System, lets you make hardware changes to our computer. Most users do not need to ever go into it, but if you want to overclock, configure a dual boot, or change fan speeds, you will enter BIOS. There is a great tutorial on how to update BIOS on pcworld.com.

UPDATE: For more detailed info on everything that your BIOS can do, check out this article. Just remember, if you ever go into the BIOS just to check it out and you have no idea what you are doing, ALWAYS quit WITHOUT saving.
