Hello all!
I'm looking for some ideas on what to pair with my existing 7970 Sapphire OC edition video card.
My budget is ~$450 CAD. The purpose of the upgrade is for gaming.
My system is as follows:
1000w gold OCZ power supply
Intel 3570K
16 GB corsair 1600 RAM
Corsair 600T case
240 GB Vertex 3
ASUS Rock Extreme6
My aim is to run Star Citizen on maxed out graphics (if possible) with decent framerates - I'm hoping for 50+ FPS.
The cards I've looked at are as follows:
Sapphire R9 280x 870mhz 3g 6000mhz $349 CAD

Sapphire R9 280x Tri-X 1100mhz 3gb 6000mhz $399 CAD

Gigabyte R9 280x 1100mhz 3gb 6 ghz $399 CAD

ASUS R9 280x 1070mhz 3gb 6.4 ghz $399 CAD

XFX R9 280x 1000mhz 3gb 6ghz $399 CAD

Powercolor R9 280x 1030mhz 3gb 6ghz $399 CAD

Now - here's the big question - is it worthwhile going with one of the $400 cards, or with the $350 Sapphire card? If the answer is yes, which one? Historically I've gone with a Sapphire card, because I've had excellent experiences with the quality of their product. I've also had good experience with ASUS and Gigabyte (non-graphics related products).
Which card would you all recommend? Am I barking up the wrong tree altogether?
Thanks for any input!
Edit - edited to clarify the different products so people don't have to go to an external site.
