So I was playing yesterday on my computer while it suddenly freeze. I restarted my pc and next thing I know it's not booting up. Error message "DISK BOOT FAILURE". I check the disk on BIOS and it tells me it has 136gb capacity. what the hell happened? Also, it has scratchy-like noises when I turn on my pc and then it suddenly disappears. Is it damaged? It's a Seagate 1TB SATA3.

I hook it up on another pc and check it on Partition Magic and this time it shows 128GB and unallocated. Should I format it? Im worried about my important files. Please help. What should I do? Thanks.

Well, I guess you need a new drive now. :(

My drive wasn't actually damaged, it just had garbage written in the MBR by a failed Windows setup.

If you had very important files on the drive, there are companies that could recover at least part of the data. However, this service tends to cost a lot and there's no guarantee that they will be successful.

Unfortunately, it has error. "Hard drive is not accessible or damaged in some way. Therefore factory capacity cannot be recovered. Please try yo run this program in another platform."

I'll try something. Is there any other way? thanks anyway

Yes. Unfortunately it's dead. Disk Management or any other format tools cant format it. Even on cmd diskpart. Data recovery is impossible too as it cant select the drive or it's not responding. Guess I have to buy a new one. Oh GOD my files. :(

Thanks guys for your reply.
