How can I get or make Boot Disk?

My hard drive crashed so A friend put new hard drive in for me and now it wants A boot disk, where can I get this?

What do you need the boot disk for?

If you are installing Windows, just toss in a Windows CD and it should boot fine.

Boot disk is old-school. There's a few apps that can create USB boot disks if you really need it.

my mom had to replaced her Hard drive ( A friend replaced it with larger hard drive) and when I started computer it says No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key, This is my moms computer and she lost her recovery disks we did when she got it.

"No Bootable Device" means that the boot loader is not installed on the harddrive.

Basically; there's nothing to boot, because you did not install an operating system.

You need to reinstall Windows, and for that, you need a Windows CD.

If you want to go the free route, you can download a Linux Ubuntu CD for free and try a different operating system.
