So my old MOBO died so I switched to an Asus MOBO. With my old mobo, the computer wouldn't even turn on but now it does with the new mobo. However, when I try to fresh install a copy of windows into my SSD, I get a BSOD. It gives me Machine Check Exception with:
0x0000009C
0x0000000000000003
0xFFFFF8800396CB60
0x00000000FE000000
0x0000000000200109

I took out the ram and put a different one to see if that was the cause but I still get the same error message. I tried to see if the flash drive was causing the BSOD but used it on my main computer and boots fine window installing.

So looking into it, It has to be either the CPU or the PSU. The PSU shouldn't be an issue since it turns the computer on right??

Any input is much appreciated...

I figured its my SSD having bad drivers since I replaced the motherboard; however, when I try to boot a fresh install of Windows from my flash drive, it also gives me the BSOD. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, when I tried to do safe mode from the SSD, it gives me BSOD as well.

Yes. I'm trying to fresh install windows into the SSD via my Windows Boot flash drive. Doesn't work. Gives me BSOD

Is it weird that when I try starting up the window installer as well, it gives me bsod at the window logo screen? Could it possibly be something else?

If the cd and the HD both cause the same error, than the damage is at a system lower than physical disks. That basically leaves CPU, ram, motherboard or a small chance the Psu. Only thing left to do is replace those parts and test

I used a USB Flash drive for windows installer. It's a new mobo so I doubt that's the issue. I will try to replace the ram and see if that's the issue. Can't really test the CPU or PSU unless I buy a new one. :(
