He specifically asked about an external graphics card so it's safe to say he means an external graphics card.

The answer is yes but that cpu is pretty weak for any gaming. Not to mention the cost is usually why no one does this. Even a decent diy setup will be around $250 for everything (gpu+psu+adapter). Why do you want to do this? Can you just get a new pc? Or even just buy a used pc and be better off than your current laptop.

You won't find the xg station. It wasn't sold in most places and where it was, it was in short supply and was only around for a short time. Btw it holds a graphics card, it's not just a chip of the 8600gt. The vidock is the only commercial product that you could get but costing around $100-200 more than diy, no one really gets it.
