Hey everyone. I need some help with a question that is getting me pretty confused right now. I have had my computer for little over a year now, and always have used the DVI ports with DVI cables, but recently i cannot. I have tried other monitors, and for a period of time even thought my rig was broke! Already spent hundred dollars on useless repairs.. I noticed at the shop they were using VGA to DVI connectors, and was having the image display on my monitor, so i took my PC home and tried a VGA to DVI adapter on my 1920x 1080 monitor, and it worked! But i want my PC back to normal. Is it broken? Anyone have a clue? Please help!

So when you boot your pc you don't see anything using DVI but works fine on VGA and plus you've tried other monitors too. Looks like your video card is the problem. It might be a pin from dvi that is disconnected or broken or something worse.

If you get nothing out of DVI no matter what monitor you use, it's probably a dead or broken DVI port on your graphics card. VGA is totally fine for 1080p.

If you insist on a digital signal to your monitor, maybe use a HDMI or DisplayPort if your monitor and graphics card can do it.

Try the "other" DVI connector on your video card. Hey, most have 2 DVI outputs ONLY one will have a signal.....

Not sure where you using VGA to DVI adapter???? Post picts.....

I am only using the VGA adapter because it will not work with ANY digital cords. I have tried HDMI and 5 monitors with both HDMI, and DVI connections. None work at all! What should i take a picture of?

Clearly there is something wrong with your digital ouput so if your card is still under warranty, I would suggest contacting support and RMA it.

Assume you've tried BOTH DVI outputs. AND, different digital cables.

If so, must be something with the card, RMA...........
