The message displayed can relate to two problems.
Every laptop has a key to enter what we call the bios settings.
To enter the bios it involves turning on the laptop, and tapping one of the F keys at the top of the keyboard. For laptops the F key can be F1 or F2.
A blue screen should appear with lots of menus and information.
On the bottom or side of the screen there will be instructions on how to navigate it using the keyboard keys.
You need to look for a sub menu or option that says BOOT.
In the menu there is a list of devices starting from number one.
Each device listed in the menu can be moved up or down in order.
The list should be set as this example.
1.CD Dvd rom drive.
2. Hard Disk drive.
The most primary boot device will be the hard drive since it contains windows.
This is a booting drive.
So should be set to number one in the boot order list.
Once done you must be sure to save the changes or settings you have selected by the option save settings exit bios.
This is on the presumption that the hard drive with the working operating system such as windows is not corrupt or has errors on it.
As the laptop will also give you the message of select correct boot device.
