Im getting really low fps on assassins creed black flag on my gtx 660 2GB PNY edition and my cpu is Pentium Dual Core G620 2.6GHZ can anyone help me

Solution

It might help, but an I5 is needed, as it is a quad core. Try the game on low first.

That cpu is way too weak for that gpu, and the game recommends a quad core. Get an i5 and you'll be maxing it.

A more power gpu will help however you need a more powerful GPU for this game if you want to turn up your settings.

This game challenges my 780 ti @ 1440p, If i turn up all the settings including anti aliasing & pysX I will get around 30fps.

What fps are you getting?

First your gtx 780 ti is better than my gpu and its because your turning v sync on you would get like 60 on all points if you have a core i5 cpu and btw im playing on 720p when my card plays this game max on 1080p iv seen over my friends personally and i get 28-29 sometimes get 50 but my card is only on 50%usage and my cpu is 100% so its like what the guys answered a cpu bottleneck

I know the 780 ti is better - I'm not turning vsync on and I do have a i 5 3570k...

Yes you have a bottleneck however even with a 4770k you will not get a good frame rates with black flag maxed out with pysX @ 720p...

Part of the problem is the the game is new and it has lots of tech that needs to be refined below is Nvidia's recommendations that were posted before the physics patch came out for 1080. " when enabling pysX in this game your get huge frame drops...

The game still looks good with out pysX and maxing anti aliasing - You will probably have to disable God rays because they require lots of compute power...

The game is so full of tech that Nvidia recommends their 1000 + Titan use fxaa at 1080p...

Check out the link, @ 1080p Nvidia

This is his reply in his earlier post to your question "i play on 720p barto with highest settings"

do you remember?

I'm sure the kid can play the game at low settings if he turns off most of the tech and uses fxaa...

That's true and you could be right. I just don't know why you kept going on with it. Not that I'm calling you out by any means. Don't take this the wrong way. He just needs a better CPU.

Because the kid is going to get a better cpu and he will be disappointed unless he upgrades his gpu or gets rid of most of the tech from black flag and lowers the anti aliasing.

Possibly in the future the game will be better optimized with driver updates and patches...

I'm just trying to give accurate advice...

Do you know what I mean?

Absolutely. I just felt that you coming out of left field with this. I also take the whole "settings" statements with a grain of salt. I mean, unless the person is very descriptive about AA or textures etc, I tend to glaze over it.

You forgot that he is trying to play the game on the highest settings, nobody is perfect! Now you understand that I wasn't coming from left field and that I'm realistic...

When the OP responded to my initial comment, I realized that he is probably a high school kid and doesn't know what he is talking about.
He was trying to give me advice about vsync lol and implied I didn't understand high powerful my gpu is

Nvidia inflate those. They say a 760 is needed for Splinter Cell Blacklist, a game I can max on a 650 Ti. A 660 will be fine, just the cpu needs an upgrade
