G.Skill's RipjawsX RAM and Corsair's Vengeance are great for overclocking and their quality is pretty good, so the colour could be another factor

The Ares have the tightest CL so best performance at native 1600, the Ares also OC well, should slide to 1866/9 with no problem if so inclined
