GPU power pins

Ok,

Just got an R9 280X. Have the XFX 650 watt pro psu. On the psu it has 2x6 pins and 2x8 pins. The one six pin is missing a black cable, however it's labled PCI-E and the other is not. Black is ground. So does it matter not having the one ground pin not connected?

Just look at the cables and see if there any broken off loose wires. I'm not surprised one ground wire is missing because technically it should work without problems. As long as one connector has a ground wire it should be fine, because ultimately the power from both connectors go to the same circuit.
