I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on my PC and I recently downloaded Splinter Cell Blacklist through uplay...

Now after a week of slow downloading, when this 19 GB finally downloaded, I click on install to be given this error :-

Unsupported 16-Bit Application

The program or feature “\??\C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\cache\installers\444\setup.exe” cannot start or run due to incompatibility with 64-bit version of Windows. Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit Windows compatible version is available.

So what do I do?

Well, I told uplay to recheck downloaded files.... it said around 1 GB of files were missing (even though earlier it had told me that the download was done) and so I let it download those files and then it worked. Although I'm not sure that is what fixed the problem, as it started working 3 days after the re-download.
