Hi All,

I'm hoping to build a netbook/ultrabook by myself - or to find a place that can build it to my specs. I've built a desktop in the past, but have no experience with netbooks/ultrabooks.

Main objective is to save some money. I need a new system for work, but work is slow so I need to save where I can.

I'm hoping to build a system that has the following:
* Fairly portable (14" widescreen -1920*1080- would probably be ideal, although I'd consider lightweight alternatives)
* Decent mobile core i5 or i7
* At least 8GB of ram
* At least a 128GB SSD (I can lug around my external HDD)
* Integrated webcam (preferably 3mp)
* No touch screen (I don't like it, and I don't want to spend money on it)
* At least 2 USB 3 ports
* A very good network card with high speed wifi
* Decent battery life
* A cool "case" would be a plus

I'm hoping to build this for well under 1000 EUR (1300 USD).

Do you think it would be possible for me to do this on my own? If not, can you point me towards a reputable place that can do it for me? Or if you know of a place that sells an ultrabook/netbook that has the above specs and ships to Europe, that would be great too.

OS doesn't matter. I'm using a Mac now, but can't afford one with the specs I want. I've got plenty of experience on Windows and Linux as well so those would be options too.

None of the big companies offer me the option to configure it the way I'd like it. And definitely not at the price I'd like it. I found 2 smaller companies, that do this sort of thing. But neither one of them has a good reputation.

Have you thought about building it yourself? I put a build together last month, my first ever. There are a lot of good tutorials on youtube
Also it ends up a lot cheaper

They're more expensive than pcspecialist.co.uk, who do custom builds. But these guys don't have a good reputation. Apart from that I quite like them. Prices are OK-ish.

If I could find a site like http://pcspecialist.co.uk that has received slightly better reviews, I'd be happy as well.
