Hey there guys.i recenlty purchased a GTX 760 oc and a corsair cx600w PSU to play some high end games.Suddenly i realised that the fps drops i got before and after the purchasing was not of the GPU but of the CPU! Anyway to get to the point,i am about to spend 400-500 Euros for a CPU+Cooler,a Motherboard and For ram memmory.its so hard to decide if i should buy an amd 8350 cpu or an intel 4670k/4770k.There are so many different ways you can go and build your computer that is getting so confused. I want a good windows, gaming, streaming experience.in a few words i need a workstation, but all i need now is a CPU,a motherboard and ram memmory!

If you have the money for a 4670k, then get it. The i5 k-versions have been the pick for gaming for about 3-4 years now. The i7 isn't really necessary as the only difference between i5 and i7 is HyperThreading which isn't used in many games. AMD does have good processors, but they are still lacking in sheer power behind the Intel's i5s in gaming.

Personally i would go for the 4670k as it performs very well against the 4770k considering the price and intel processors are also great for workstation pc's. 8gb of RAM should be enough but it you have enough in your budget to push to 16gb then it wont hurt.

AMD = more cores for multitasking, excellent in multi threaded apps.
Will not bottleneck your current gpu.

Intel = better gaming performance, but not vastly greater if your gpu stays the same.
!/2 as many cores (arguably)

In either case, buy a high quality motherboard to take advantage of the money you are spending on cpu.

For your budget you could go either way, the AMD solution will leave more headroom for more/better ram or other upgrade components, depending on local pricing for you.

Before Intel guys flame me out of existence, yes the Intel solution benchmarks and performs a fair bit higher than an 8350. However the OP's useage may be better suited to more cores, and lower cost may allow for extras he otherwise couldn't get for his budget.

Like more ram or a 128 GB ssd to assist with the streaming.

Thanks for responding guys.considering to my local stores prices an amd 8350 build with a good mobo and 1866 ram will cost me 470 euro,an i5 with a mid range mobo + 1600 ram 450 and and i7 build 510. I cant afford more than 500 euros for a pc upgrade, and i know that a fast ssd for OS is so useful, but is that so necessary? I mean,i am so confused.i dont know whic of 3 to take its all the same price.the only difference is that in i7 build i wont be able to buy an extra cooler for the CPU! sorry if i confuse you..

Keep in mind, that for a 4670k or 4770k cpu, you need a z87 motherboard if you want to overclock. SSD is not necessary.

Thanks for responging.i already have a good GPU so i am not in need of a new one for now.i only want a cpu, mobo and rams!Yes i know that i need Z87 mobo, this is not my problem.I want my pc for general use.i want playing without fps drops, streaming, browsing and perhaps video editing.I just see that so many people say that in feauture 8 cores will absolutely destroy quad cores cause games in 1-2 years will need more than 4 cores..

Sorry, the GPU was a holdover from another build I was working on and I forgot to remove it. Just ignore that.
