Hello, I have a question.
This is my current rig:
I5 3570K
Gtx 680 Twin Frozr 3
Msi z77a-G41
Corsair VS650w
Coolermaster 690 II Case

I was wondering if It would be possible to upgrade my system to a Gtx 780TI and use my current 680 for dedicated PhysX.
And would I need a better PSU?

Solution
You'll need a bigger power supply... (to run BOTH cards 750watts (because the 680 will see a VERY light load as PhysX card. OR, 650watt for just the 780Ti Corsair, Antec, XFX, or Seasonic....)

I run a GTX 690 with a GTX 460 OC as dedicated PhysX (the dedicated card gains 3--4 FPS in Batman and Metro 2033 built in bench marks...

SO, I'd say sell the GTX 680 to pay for the power supply and help with the cost of the GTX780Ti..........

Yeah its very possible but im not sure you would have enough wattage to run the 680 as a physx card. but honestly with a 780ti you dont need a physx card you wouldnt see any benefit anyways just a huge spike in power usage which will run your powersupply hotter and kill its over all life expectancy\
