Hi guys,
Since a few days, my nVidia GT555m is giving the code 43 error (Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems.) in the device manager.
My setup (notebook):
Intel i7 2630QM Quad Core @ 2Ghz
8 GB RAM Corsair (1033 Mhz) (2 x 4Gb)
Intel 320 SSD 80Gb
nVidia GT555m
Intel 3000
(hope this is described ok)
I noticed this when a game couldn't locate my GPU.
After I rebooted, the error was gone. However, the next time I rebooted the error was there again...
Then I started Googling, and I've read that the RAM could be a problem. I took one of the RAM out, same problem. Started switching with them and suddenly, NO MORE ERROR!
The I rebooted, and still no error. At this point I started feeling excited, so I rebooted a 3th time, et voila, the error was there again...
Then I decided to run memtest86, the test took about 45minutes, and resulted in 0 errors.
When I boot in safe mode, I never get an error (maybe this is normal?)
I also formatted my computer to a new Windows 8 install, didn't help. Then I installed a clean Windows 7, and still the same error.
I also have tried every single driver that ever worked for the GPU. I have tried the one I've got on disc when I bought the notebook, also tried the latest drivers..
I am getting really desperate, I'm hoping the GPU has not died, because it's a portable, that would mean a new mobo..
