Hi everyone, planning on some sort of casual to medium demand gaming computer, based off an AMD CPU. I'm hoping to spend around £550 to a maximum of probably £600, for reference. As is usual with these things, opinions and suggestions/advice will be much appreciated.

• AMD FX-6300 Black Edition
• Asus M5A97 R2.0 motherboard
• 2GB XFX Core Edition HD 7850
• 8GB (2x4GB) Corsair Value Select DDR3 1333MHz memory - not sure whether this or 1600MHz
• 1TB Seagate Barracuda internal hard drive
• 500W Corsair Builder Series CX power supply
• Zalman Z9 case - not sure about this, but trying to keep case pretty low costs

Obviously there's mouse, keyboard, etc. but that's not really relevant...With everything, it comes to £590.96, at scan.co.uk (any other good suggestions of where to buy from would be great).

Thanks for reading!

I've added Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit to the given price, but I'll definitely take the 270X into account, given budget constraints. Thanks

If the budget you gave in your first post is after pickingout an OS, definitely stay with the 280x, as it is definitely worth the upgrade. If it's too much a hike, however, I would look at the GTX 760 too, which is priced between the 270x and 280x, and has performance between the two as well.

Ok, thanks for the tip. In the end, I may be able to spend a little over £600, in which case I'll go with a 280X, as it definitely looks like good power for money.

Yeah, was going to ask about that. Given that you appear to be the wise authority round here on power supplies, what would you think is suitable for the 270X/GTX 760/280X range?
