I'm currently running Windows 7 and my DVD drive is PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-216D ATA Device it reads DVDs no problem and the same with CDS and Blank CDS but when i put in Any DVD Blank it won't read it and tells me to put in a disc. Any thoughts?
If it will not even recognise that there is a DVD in the drive, it could be one of two problems:
1) The make of the DVD - occasionally, I have found that some players just will not recognise some blanks (CD or DVD) so if you can, try another make.
2) The drive optical sensor may simply need cleaning - it may 'see' a CD/DVD, and even a blank CD, but not the DVD. Try using a good cleaning disk + cleaning solution.
