I have a server it runs windows 7 like a dream, but I must've bought a counterfeit because the key no longer works. The server never came with any COA, as it was a retired military server. So I guess it is customary for them to remove all COA stickers. Which I know they would not have had Windows 7 installed. But the server is an HP and it's a 64 bit system, So should an HP Windows 7 Professional x64 OEM install without a need of a key since it meets the HP and x64 requirements? I paid the full retail price for the last copy for the server so I'm not trying to cheat the system. Last night I ordered a official HP OEM of the OS. Now I'm having doubts it will work.

Since you paid for the copy you were using, contact MS and have them check why they key won't work, or where you bought it from.
