fx 8350 upgrade from corsair h55 to xspc raystorm ax360 w/d5 photon

Just wondering if there was something wrong, but when I run prime or even convert a movie, my temps are around 45-50 now that I upgraded to a custom liquid kit and have a 360mm radiator and huge fricken pump. But those temps are just a few degrees cooler than when I ran a corsair h55 120mm. Is that sound good, and before you ask yes I did take off the plastic coating from the cpu block (haha noticed after I had started tighting the bracket), and yes ive tried re applying thermal paste 3 times, arctic m5, arctic silver, and the xspc included one. Not more than a degree difference between the two.

If the cooler is sufficient there is only going to be a few degrees difference. Even a budget air cooler like CM Hyper 212 Evo only has a few degrees difference to good $50-100 coolers.

Yes I realize this, but thought a $450 liquid kit would bring temps down more than a few degrees over a $50 cooler

Those few degrees can make all the difference when we are talking max overclocking potential.

I realize this, maybe mobo reading are wrong through asus software. But I have 4.8 ghz corsair h55 around 55-60 max load. I'm hitting same but hangs around 55 more.

I am surprised the H55 could maintain those temps at 4.8GHz I would have thought it would run out of steam at around 4.5GHz.
