Hey guys i recently upgraded my computer and got a GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 AM3+ motherboard and FX-8320 CPU. I got everything up and running today to hear a very loud noise coming from the CPU cooler. I thought eh its just gotta do its thing at first but no. i only have the internet open right now and it is running at 5k rpm. I tried to look for settings in the bios but i couldn't find anything to help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is my BIOS http://prntscr.com/2jf1a0

And here is my CPU fan speed with nothing open http://prntscr.com/2jf1pj

Solution
Hello... But seriously... Do you have another 4 pin/wire fan to Plug in? They Do make Broken things and sell as New.

Plug your CPU fan into the SYSTEM Fan connector and see if it slows down.

Could you point me in a better direction? Ive tried to find anything similar but i cannot.

Hello... are you using a 4 wire CPU fan and connector? that is the only way to get speed control, check your connector placement.
You may need to Disable " CPU Smart Fan Control" save the setting and exit... Then enable it agian, save the setting and exit agian...
You may need to up date your MB Bio's... F4 is available, what version are you using?

The smart fan control did not work. Still at 5k rpm

Hello... Well a BIO's/CMOS reset would be my next option... after that I would reflash the BIO's... IF there was no other information on similar problems, with a Internet search of your MB or FAN Cooler, Someone else should be reporting this if you Google it... Check Gigabyte site QA.
FA sounds like a Custom/Beta bios flash... Try the the F4 it is really fast and easy TO FLASH YOUR BIOS FROM WINDOWS APP now...

I would not think that the fan is broken because it does go down to about 4.5k but then it jumps to 5 or 6k rpm

You're a saint. It dropped down to ~2.6k rpm after doing this. Thank you so much! Now i just need to figure out why im having problems watching twitch.tv

Hello... you cant run with your CPU FAN plugged into your System header... That was just to test your fan!!! Your fan is Good... your CPU Fan header still seems to be doing the wrong thing... unless you need more thermal paste.
You need Adobe flash player for Twitch...

Oh.. Well i applied the 3 rice size drops of arctic silver thermal paste. Should i try re applying? And is it bad if i leave my cpu fan plugged into my system slot? Or is that bad?

But for twitch the video will start normally then it just stops and it wont load unless i put it on the lowest settings. Then it still studders. Also my internet browser seems to slow way down whenever im trying to watch twitch, I can not even load a new page.

Hello... No... you will not have proper CPU FAN temperature control, plugged into the System header... you need to be plugged into the CPU Fan header... So something is still wrong, more thermal grease might help.
What Video Card do you use? What Monitor Resolution are you using? Did you Load the the Right Windows driver for it? and have you set the Monitor and Windows to your screen settings?
