Hi, doing my first new build and using an AMD FX-9590 processor and a recently purchased Sabertooth board. I have the 24 pin connector for the board plugged in and the cpu power connected. The cpu cooling fan spins up aswell. I dont have a system speaker so i cant hear any error messages but i see the cpu light is still lit. Through looking at the forums ive reset the CMOS, Tried booting with memory sticks in different slots even without RAM and have tried booting with just the cpu and cooler plugged in. Aside from the CPU light and the main motherboard light nothing else is lit.

Edit: Just tried to instal my old processor AMD FX-8120 and had the same error occur so i dont think its the processor chip but i could be wrong

Solution

Thanks for the reply, I found out with someone else's help that it was bent cpu pins.

Then I guess that there's a corrupt BIOS now.
Try again the Flashback.
Download the 2104 version from https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_990FX_R20/#support
Unzip, rename the SABERTOOTH-990FX-R20-ASUS-2104.CAP file to
ST990R20.CAP
Save the file on the FAT formatted USB drive.
Connect the USB stick to the Flashback port (the one between the BIOS Flashback button and the gray audio port).
Don't start the board, just make sure that the power supply is connected and on.
Press the Flasback button for 3 seconds. The led should start flashing and the process should take few minutes. Wait until the light goes off.
